Motion Industries breaks ground for expanded distribution center

Motion Industries, Inc.,  announces the building of a new, expanded distribution center near Dallas, TX. The facility is scheduled to open in March 2017, and will be managed by Dan Krska.

The site is in the center of the DFW Metroplexand less than a half mile off of a major highway. It is also close to LTL carriers andto both of the area’s major airports. With asquare footage of 156,000, the new facility will net the company almost 50,000 square feet over the current Dallas distribution center location and will house approximately 50,000 SKUs.unnamed

Motion Industries brancheswill have accessibility to a deeper selection of current vendors and industrial supplies along with new product lines. The Dallas DC serves 65 Motion Industries branches on a daily basis, and serves more than 550 locations company-wideacross North America.

The two-story office will include distribution center offices, Motion’s Southwest division offices, a full-scale branch with retail space, and an enhanced showcase area for visitors. The build shop offerings of fluid power conversion, gearbox assembly, cut rails and shafting, and valve assembly will transfer from the current DC to the new facility.

The Motion team plans to adda bore-to-size lathe and increased shafting and rail stockin the foreseeable future. With the expanded facility and planned inventory increase, Motion Industries plans to add jobs to fulfill the anticipated need for additional material handling employees.
